As more and more companies look for ways to switch from fossil fuel to battery-based energy technologies, they often find themselves in need of a partner, who can deliver a bespoke, high-quality solution. In particular, one that can deliver lithium batteries rather than lead acid batteries as they last longer and come without environmental hazards. To meet that need, WS Technicals (WST) was established in 2015.
Lithium batteries are used in a long and rapidly growing list of industries, each with their own demands and specifications. WST delivers turn-key solutions to all of them, whether it is high or low voltage, fast charging solutions or completely specialized and tailormade batteries. To mention but one example, WST recently provided a major player in the automotive industry with batteries for a line of completely bespoke robots. The diversity of the company’s client base means that it is less exposed to cyclical changes in demand.
The company uses its own software for testing, documentation and tracking to ensure that WST’s solution will deliver as promised. Clients appreciate WST’s agility and hands-on approach and recognize that the team thrives with very high levels of technical complexity.
The global market for lithium batteries is expected to soar over the next decade, and WS Technicals is ideally positioned to play a significant role in this development. To become a part of that journey, and to support the management team’s mission, in the Spring of 2024, Torque bought 35 per cent of WS Technicals.
